The Magic Valley Arts Council and Full Moon Gallery invite you to the Open House Reception Thursday, January 12 from 5-7 pm for Then and Now: Back Alley Soul, at the Twin Falls Center for the Arts, 195 River Vista Pl. The exhibit features film photography of art and architecture of Seattle’s Skid Row by Burt Berlin, accompanied by digital photography from students Milam Crane and Morgan Crane, paintings by Carol Lewis and new works by Full Moon Gallery Artists.
The exhibit will be on display January 12 – March 4, 2017.
Taking a que from his experience as a wildlife photographer, Burt’s year-long endeavor found him adapted to his surroundings, scouring the rough alleys and making mental notes of light and shadows.
Xavier Charter School students Milam & Morgan Crane, both 14 years old, share their interpretation of urbanscapes using today’s popular photography tool – an iPhone.
Carol Lewis, Twin Falls, began painting at age 88. Due to an injury, she learned to paint left-handed but now paints with both hands. At 91 years old, she paints every week with local artist Don Omen.
Full Moon Gallery Artist members are: Paula Brown Sinclair, Joyce DeFord, Paula Dodd, Jerry Dodds, Neva Edwards, Geri Fuestel, Gloria Hann, Rick Kuhn, Bev Stone, Rosi Martinez-Eckert, Roy Mason, Barbara Michener, Jan Mittleider, Betsy Morishita, Connie Pepper, Corinne Slusser, Leon Smith, Bud Starr and Monica Yamamoto-Hoffmann.
