The American Letter is a deep dive into the personal and familial repercussions of studying abroad and the value of education in a foreign land. It is also a saga of estranged brothers and cousins whose freshly established connections are severely affected by Yasemin’s selfish quest for her roots to remedy her existential and cultural alienation caused by her education.
