Full Moon Gallery Offers Extended Hours in June

The Magic Valley Arts Council’s Full Moon Gallery of Art and Contemporary Craft will be offering extended hours during the month of June. The gallery will be open Tuesdays-Thursdays from 10 am to 5 pm, Fridays from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm.

“With so many people taking advantage of the canyon rim trail we want to help them buy gifts to remember their experience,” said Full Moon Gallery President Jan Mittleider.

Located on the Second Floor of the Twin Falls Center for the Arts, 195 River Vista Place, the co-op gallery is home to 19 local artists whose works include ceramics, en-caustic, engraved gourds, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography and woodwork. Many of the art pieces showcase the Magic Valley.

The current exhibit featured at inside the gallery is Highlighting the Grain, featuring new works by Full Moon Gallery Artists and Guest Artists Donald Pica and Jodi Silvers-Miller. In the main lobby is the Idaho Watercolor Society Regional Art Show.

Twin Falls artist Donald Pica has been a woodworker since high school and has constructed many large pieces of furniture from American hardwoods, oak, walnut, cherry, alder, and maple. Since retirement in 2006 he has pursued his hobby to a much greater degree, resulting in a large number of cut of pieces of hardwood. Using a lathe, he turns these blocks into beautifully unique bowls, containers, chargers, trays and tureens.

Originally from Twin Falls, Boise artist Jodi Silvers-Miller designed *beautiful words* to promote the idea that words create and words bring life. *beautiful words* seeks to unlock a person’s potential – carry promise that transcends cultural boundaries – deliver beauty, hope, and light into the world. *beautiful words*empower each individual – from those who help to create them, to the ones who give them, and ultimately, to those who receive them – helping each person to know and experience that they are created to be loved and, in turn, love others deeply. Since 2015, Jodi has free-hand engraved hundreds of custom key necklaces with a wood-carver.

Full Moon Gallery Artist members are: Paula Brown Sinclair, Joyce DeFord, Paula Dodd, Jerry Dodds, Neva Edwards, Geri Fuestel, Gloria Hann, Rick Kuhn, Bev Stone, Rosi Martinez-Eckert, Roy Mason, Barbara Michener, Jan Mittleider, Betsy Morishita, Connie Pepper, Corinne Slusser, Leon Smith, Bud Starr and Monica Yamamoto-Hoffmann.
