Description: Join acclaimed watercolor artist Hugh Mossman for an all-day deep dive to the art of watercolor. Hugh will cover some basic composition and watercolor techniques, and will then create a demo painting of a landscape. He will then provide individual composition and technique help, instruction, and critiques as you create your own watercolor landscape!
“My objective in painting is to capture the essence of a subject with a style that is loose and expressive.”
Resides in Boise, Idaho and has worked primarily in watercolor since the early 1980’s. Favorite subjects are landscapes of Idaho’s scenic alpine, canyon and rivers, as well as fly fishing subjects and street scenes, particularly from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
The recipient of many awards, he has been achieved signature member status in the National Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, the Northwest Watercolor Society, Watercolor West, California Watercolor Society and as a Distinguished Merit member of the Idaho Watercolor Society. His watercolors have been published in Splash 17 as well as various sporting magazines. Hugh has taught numerous watercolor workshops and is past president of the Boise Art Museum.
