This exhibition encourages artists to depict themselves in imaginative ways\, inspired by the mosaic of experiences\, places\, and elements that shape who they are. If you were a plant\, a landscape\, a season\, or an object\, what would you be? How do these interpretations reflect your journey\, values\, or essence? \nSelf Portrait As… offers a space to share personal stories through inventive self-representation\, allowing viewers a glimpse into the many layers that make up each artist’s unique identity. Join us in this exploration of self\, reimagined. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLICK HERE TO APPLY: FMG Application Form\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication Information:\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication Deadline: EXTENDED THROUGH August 15\, 2025\nAll 2D and 3D artists are encouraged to apply.\nEach application may include up to 10 works\, and you may apply up to 3 times for a total of 30 works submitted to the exhibit.\nWorks are reviewed by a Jury Committee\, and all artists selected will be notified in writing on or before August 23.\n\n\n\n\n\nImportant Dates:\n\n\n\n\n\nShow Dates – September 12 – October 31\, 2025\nApplications Open – June 10 – August 15\, 2025\nArtist Acceptance Notification – on or before August 23\nInstallation Fees due – September 9\, 2025\nArtwork Delivery – September 9\, 2025 from 11am – 5pm\nPublic Open House / Artist Reception – September 12\, 2025 from  5-7pm\n\n\n\n\n\nFees:\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication: $20 per 10 works submitted. DESCRIPTION:APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 6\, 2025\, at 11:59 p.m. MT\nFor full prospectus and terms\, visit the Boise City Dept of Arts & History website here: https://www.boiseartsandhistory.org/opportunities/calls-opportunities/james-castle-house-2026-residencies/ \nBoise City Department of Arts & History invites local and national emerging and mid-career artists in any creative field to apply for 2-month or 2-week residency terms at the James Castle House in Boise\, Idaho. The historic home site\, where American artist James Castle lived and worked for over four decades\, stands today as a testament to the artist’s unique talent and artistic legacy. \nThis residency invites artists to immerse themselves in the historic site\, James Castle’s legacy\, and the surrounding landscape\, and respond to their experience through the creation of new works. Residents will share their creative practice and process with our community through one public event during their stay. \nEach residency cycle provides one participant with private furnished living quarters\, 24-hour studio access\, and a $1\,000 stipend for a two-week residency or a $4\,000 stipend for a two-month residency to assist with living expenses and supplies necessary to create work. The resident is responsible for travel and shipping expenses. \nThrough this program\, the James Castle House keeps the legacy of daily creativity and experimentation alive on-site\, cultivating a growing local and national community and providing a deeper understanding of James Castle and the place he called home. \n*Please note that this is a solo residency.
