Suitable for ages 14 and up.  \nClass size is limited for the best experience\, sign up early to save your spot!  \nRegister online below\, call MVAC at 208-734-ARTS (2787)\, or stop in to sign up. \n  \nSecond Saturday at the Full Moon Gallery presents Beginning Bookbinding with Kristy Lowell \n  \nHave you ever come across the most beautiful paper and wished it could be in your sketchbook? Do you often wish for a pocket-sized booklet that you can tuck in your bag\, ready to capture any passing thought? Join us in Beginning Bookbinding to learn how to create a personalized sketchbook/travel journal and bring those ideas to life! \nStudents will learn how to make a notebook using the chain stitch binding technique and some of its variations\, and you will keep the book you make in class. Learn about bookbinding tools including awls\, proper thread\, needles\, hole punching jigs\, and more. Leave with an instructional sheet after the workshop so that you can continue to make journals at home. \nThese books make great travel-sized notebooks or sketchbooks\, are endlessly customizable\, and make for a great personalized DIY gift! \nWhether you’re new to bookbinding or have dabbled in the past\, this class offers a fun\, approachable way to enjoy the craft and build your skills. \n  \nAll materials provided No experience necessary — beginners welcome! \n  \nRefund Policy: all ticket\, table\, or seat purchases are NON REFUNDABLE from date of purchase.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 9 \n10:00 a.m. – Noon (we will stop accepting walk-ins at 11:30am if classes are full) \nMagic Valley Arts Council – Ground Floor \nCost:  FREE for ages 18 and under \nThe April showers have brough May flowers at our Second Saturday youth workshop! Kids 18 and under can join in and explore the lives of insects with a 3-D insect landscape\, and create a wonderful dip-dye flower card for a special someone in their life. \nParents\, bring your little ones out for a morning of creativity—no registration required! Drop-ins are welcome until 11:30 AM. If the workshop is full when you arrive\, we may ask you to explore the gallery upstairs while waiting 10-15 minutes for a spot to open up. \nAttendance is no charge\, but we request that you RSVP online below or by calling 208-734-ARTS (2787) so we have an idea of how many kids to plan for. \n
