DESCRIPTION:Applications will be opening soon for ‘Wide Open Spaces: The Lives & Livelihoods of the American West’\nApplication Window January 6 – March 3\, 2026\nShow dates are April 10 – May 29\, 2026\nThe Full Moon Gallery will be accepting submissions soon for our spring 2026 exhibition\, Wide Open Spaces: The Lives & Livelihoods of the American West. This show is a love letter to our community and western culture\, reflecting the landscapes\, people\, environments\, animals\, and everything else that makes the place we call home. \nWe’re looking for art that shows the west in all its unique forms. That could mean photography from iconic peaks to the smallest critters\, sculpture showing the flora and fauna of the region\, paintings capturing western textures and big skies\, portraits of cowhands and ranchers\, indigenous beading and weaving\, silversmithing\, leatherworking\, and more. If your art is inspired by or celebrates western spirit and culture\, we want to see it! \nComplete your application here: FMG Application Form \n\n\nApplication Information:\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication Window: January 6 – March 3\, 2026\nAll 2D and 3D artists are encouraged to apply.\nEach application may include up to 10 works\, and you may apply up to 3 times for a total of 30 works submitted to the exhibit.\nWorks are reviewed by a Jury Committee\, and all artists selected will be notified in writing on or before March 9\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\nImportant Dates:\n\n\n\n\n\nShow Dates – April 10 – May 29\, 2026\nApplications Open – January 6 – March 3\, 2026\nArtist Acceptance Notification – on or before March 9\, 2026\nInstallation Fees due – April 7\, 2026\nArtwork Delivery – April 7 from 11am – 5pm\nPublic Open House / Artist Reception – April 17 from  5-7pm\n\n\n\n\n\nFees:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nApplication: $20 per 10 works submitted. You may apply up to 3 times per exhibition\, for a total of 30 works submitted per show.\nInstallation: $40 for MVAC Members\, $48 for Not-Yet-Members (yearly MVAC membership begins at $25 – click here for more info) per 10 works accepted.\n25% MVAC Commission on any works sold during the show.\n\n\nAll artwork will need to installation ready – framed (if applicable) with a suitable hanger on the back\, gallery wrapped canvas with finished edge\, etc. MVAC and all employees does not assume any liability for lost\, stolen\, or damaged artwork while on display. All artists are strongly recommended to carry liability insurance.\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Drawing Basics: Graphite Still Lifes \nwith Jude Metzler \nThursdays\, January 29 – February 19 | 6pm – 8pm \n$65 / MVAC Members \n$80 / Non-Members (membership begins at on $25/year! Click here to join or renew your membership and save.) \nRegister online below\, or call 208-734-ARTS (2787) to sign up! \n  \nFor this class\, students will learn how to properly draw\, shade\, and blend 3-d objects. Each class\, Jude will instruct students through increasingly complex still lifes with subjects ranging from simple shapes up to complicated pieces like skulls and foliage.  \nWe’ll cover specific techniques for: \n\nlight direction and source\nshading and blending\ncreating values in black and white\n\nWhether you’ve drawn before or you are completely intimidated by the prospect\, this is the class for you! Jude will break down the process into simple steps that can be applied to any work of art. \nOpen to all levels\, ages 14 and up. All supplies provided. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefund Policy: all ticket\, table\, or seat purchases are NON REFUNDABLE from date of purchase.
