In this immersive class\, we’ll explore the many moods of water\, from the glassy stillness of a mountain lake to the crashing drama of ocean waves\, and even the explosive energy of geysers. She continues to explore the possibilities and pushes the medium beyond its limitations to achieve luminous and incredible results. \nLeslie’s paintings are in private and corporate collections worldwide. She has a Master of Education in Art Education and holds signatures with Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC). Leslie teaches painting and drawing at the University of Victoria in Victoria\, BC and conducts workshops in Canada\, the U.S.\, and Spain. That could mean artwork made with or from sheet music\, pieces inspired by a favorite song or lyric\, or event abstract works that reflect the feeling or rhythm of music. Suitable for ages 14 and up.  \nClass size is limited for the best experience\, sign up early to save your spot!  \nRegister online below\, call MVAC at 208-734-ARTS (2787)\, or stop in to sign up. \n  \nSecond Saturday at the Full Moon Gallery presents Illuminated Lettering with Michelle George \nIlluminated Lettering\, also known as “versals” is one of the very oldest forms of art.   A versal is a large capital letter used to start out a word\, poem\, verse\, name\, or song.  We will be decorating them in a variety of ways\, using both watercolor and pen and ink.  We will make use of both positive and negative spaces to make our designs expressive\, unique\, and fun! Both beginners and more advanced artists will enjoy creating designs that are as simple or elaborate as you please!  \nAll materials provided. Her art focuses on the combination of spontaneity and detail that watercolor has to offer. She continues to explore the possibilities and pushes the medium beyond its limitations to achieve luminous and incredible results. \nLeslie’s paintings are in private and corporate collections worldwide. She has a Master of Education in Art Education and holds signatures with Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC). Leslie teaches painting and drawing at the University of Victoria in Victoria\, BC and conducts workshops in Canada\, the U.S.\, and Spain. She currently resides near Spokane\, WA. \nHer work is featured in Splash 10: Passionate Brushstrokes from the Splash: Best of Watercolor series\, Leslie Redhead: the life of an artist\, and Making It! Case Studies of Successful Canadian Artists. She is the author of Watercolor 365 and illustrator the children’s book\, Island in the Salish Sea by Sheryl McFarlane. Sketchbooks can be used to record your art journey and tell your unique story. You will learn how to use your sketchbook as a visual journal of your daily experiences using illustrations and words. Sketchbooks are a great way to record travel. In this workshop\, you will learn how to set up attractive pages using drawings\, paintings\, pictures\, lettering\, stamps\, stencils\, stickers\, maps\, and more. \nAs a theme for this workshop\, we will focus on icons of the holiday seasons. We will be using references common to the holidays to design pages that tell your unique story. You are welcome to use another theme if you choose. Just come as you are\, relax\, and paint. \n  \nAbout the Instructor: \nLeslie Lambert (also known as Leslie Redhead) is a celebrated artist known for her innovative poured watercolors. With a keen eye for detail and a mastery of color\, Lambert skillfully pours and manipulates pigments on paper\, resulting in stunning and dynamic compositions of the West. Her artwork\, characterized by vibrant hues\, has garnered widespread acclaim and has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and exhibitions worldwide. Lambert’s ability to push the boundaries of traditional watercolor painting has established her as a trail blazer in the arts. \nIn addition to signature status with the Cowgirl Artists of America (CGA)\, Lambert is a signature member of Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS)\, and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. She is also an associate member of Women Artists of the West (WAOW). Lambert is the author of Watercolor 365: Daily Tips\, Tricks\, and Techniques and the illustrator of the children’s book\, Island in the Salish Sea\, by Sheryl McFarlane. Her work has been published in Western Art Collector\, Plein Air Magazine\, Western Art & Architecture\, Watercolor Artist\, The Artist’s Network\, and Splash 10: The Best of Watercolor. \nLambert is an adjunct professor of art at the College of Southern Idaho and teaches workshops throughout U.S.\, Canada\, Spain\, and Morocco. She is represented by Trails End Gallery in Chewelah\, Washington and Horizon Fine Art in Jackson\, Wyoming. Lambert currently divides her time between Burley\, Idaho and Colville\, Washington where she creates works of art portraying vast expanses of the western landscape.
