SUMMARY:Fellowship Concert Series: Hillfolk Noir
DESCRIPTION:What: Hillfolk Noir in concert!\nWhen: Second Mondays of the Month – March 9th 7–8:30pm Doors open at 6:30pm.\nWhere: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 160 9th Ave E\, Twin Falls\, Idaho 83301\nCost: $15 suggested donation \n  \n\nTHE FELLOWSHIP CONCERT SERIES PRESENTS: Hillfolk Noir! \nGrooving. Raucous. Genre-bending. And always a ton of fun.\nHailing from Boise\, Idaho\, the always young-at-heart Hillfolk Noir has been carving their own musical path for 20 years.  Built on the Junkerdash tradition\, today’s Hillfolk is rooted in the band’s song craftsmanship. From spiral-bound mountains of frontman Travis Ward’s ragged notebooks comes the hard and the tender. Hillfolk Noir can blow the roof off the place\, or draw you around the fire with their earnest musical narratives of the back alleys\, the open range\, and the front porch. They paint with sound the earnest stories about the lives of lovers\, law-breakers\, and the lion-hearted: heroes and outcasts alike. You can expect a bevy of acoustic instruments and a ton of songs.

SUMMARY:Second Saturday Art Class - Watercolor as Music: Painting with Rhythm & Emotion
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, March 14 \n10:00 a.m. – Noon \nMagic Valley Arts Council – 2nd floor classroom \nCost:  $25 to MVAC members\, $30 to Not-Yet Members \nNo experience necessary! Suitable for ages 14 and up.  \nClass size is limited for the best experience\, sign up early to save your spot!  \nRegister online below\, call MVAC at 208-734-ARTS (2787)\, or stop in to sign up. \n  \nSecond Saturday at the Full Moon Gallery presents Watercolor as Music: Painting with Rhythm & Emotion with Leslie Lambert \nWhat does music look like? What does color sound like? In this unique and expressive watercolor workshop\, we’ll explore the connection between music and painting. Using rhythm\, repetition\, contrast\, and flow\, you’ll learn how to let music guide your brush – creating abstract or semi-abstract paintings inspired by sound. \nWe’ll begin with short listening and painting exercises to explore how different types of music affect your color choices\, brushwork\, and energy. Then\, you’ll create your own full piece inspired by a favorite song or musical mood. \nThis class is perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike – anyone who wants to loosen up\, play with paint\, and discover a new way to connect with both music and watercolor. \nNo experience necessary – just bring an open mind and a willingness to explore. \n  \nAbout the Instructor: \nLeslie Lambert (also known as Leslie Redhead) is a celebrated artist known for her innovative poured watercolors. With a keen eye for detail and a mastery of color\, Lambert skillfully pours and manipulates pigments on paper\, resulting in stunning and dynamic compositions of the West. Her artwork\, characterized by vibrant hues\, has garnered widespread acclaim and has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and exhibitions worldwide. Lambert’s ability to push the boundaries of traditional watercolor painting has established her as a trail blazer in the arts. \nIn addition to signature status with the Cowgirl Artists of America (CGA)\, Lambert is a signature member of Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS)\, and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. She is also an associate member of Women Artists of the West (WAOW). Lambert is the author of Watercolor 365: Daily Tips\, Tricks\, and Techniques and the illustrator of the children’s book\, Island in the Salish Sea\, by Sheryl McFarlane. Her work has been published in Western Art Collector\, Plein Air Magazine\, Western Art & Architecture\, Watercolor Artist\, The Artist’s Network\, and Splash 10: The Best of Watercolor. \nLambert is an adjunct professor of art at the College of Southern Idaho and teaches workshops throughout U.S.\, Canada\, Spain\, and Morocco. She is represented by Trails End Gallery in Chewelah\, Washington and Horizon Fine Art in Jackson\, Wyoming. Lambert currently divides her time between Burley\, Idaho and Colville\, Washington where she creates works of art portraying vast expanses of the western landscape. More of her work can be viewed on her website at leslielambertart.com. \n  \nRefund Policy: all ticket\, table\, or seat purchases are NON REFUNDABLE from date of purchase.

SUMMARY:12 Angry Men - Twin Falls Theatre Collective
DESCRIPTION:Join the cast of Twin Falls Theatre Collective in their production of 12 Angry Men this spring! \nWhen: April 23\, 24\, 25\, 27\, 30\, May 1 | 7pm \nAND April 25\, 26\, May 3 | 2pm \nWhere: Twin Falls Theatre Collective (310 Main St\, Filer\, ID 83328) \nCost: $20/ea\, purchase tickets online HERE: https://twinfallstheatre.com/tickets/ \n\n  \nA 19-year-old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. “He doesn’t stand a chance\,” mutters the guard as the 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room. It looks like an open-and-shut case—until one of the jurors begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts. “This is a remarkable thing about democracy\,” says the foreign-born juror\, “that we are notified by mail to come down to this place—and decide on the guilt or innocence of a person; of a man or woman we have not known before. We have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict. We should not make it a personal thing.” But personal it is\, with each juror revealing his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined\, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short\, arguments grow heated\, and the jurors become 12 angry men. \nBy Reginald Rose\nAdapted by Sherman L. Sergel. Based on the Emmy award-winning television movie by Reginald Rose.\nProduced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock\, Illinois

SUMMARY:Film Screening: THE LIBRARIANS - Special Viewing with Indivisible Twin Falls
DESCRIPTION:What: Special screening of the independent documentary The Librarians\, hosted by Indivisible Twin Falls County \nWhen: Saturday\, April 25 | 6pm \nWhere: Lamphouse Theatre\, 233 5th Ave S\, Twin Falls\, ID 83301 \nCost: Free to attend\, donations accepted to support Indivisible Twin Falls County \n  \nIf you missed the Indie Lens Pop-Up film screening of The Librarians at the Magic Valley Arts Council\, you are in luck! Indivisible Twin Falls County will be hosting a special viewing party at the Lamphouse Theatre in Twin Falls\, in response to the increasing amount of book bans occurring in our community. There will be a community discussion following the film. \n  \nJoin Indivisible Twin Falls County Idaho for a special screening of the acclaimed documentary The Librarians\, followed by a post-film community discussion to talk about how we protect the freedom to read right here in Idaho.\nFeatured at the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Film and TV Festival\, this documentary follows librarians as they fight against an anti-government extremist group whose aim is to remove books from school libraries in Texas.\nLibrarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy and our First Amendment Rights. As they well know\, controlling the flow of ideas means control over communities.\nIn Texas\, the Krause List targets 850 books focused on race and LGBTQIA+ stories – triggering sweeping book bans across the U.S. at an unprecedented rate. As tensions escalate\, librarians connect the dots from heated school and library board meetings nationwide to lay bare the underpinnings of extremism fueling the censorship efforts. Despite facing harassment\, threats\, and laws aimed at criminalizing their work – the librarians’ rallying cry for freedom to read is a chilling cautionary tale.
