She continues to explore the possibilities and pushes the medium beyond its limitations to achieve luminous and incredible results. \nLeslie’s paintings are in private and corporate collections worldwide. She has a Master of Education in Art Education and holds signatures with Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS) and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC). Leslie teaches painting and drawing at the University of Victoria in Victoria\, BC and conducts workshops in Canada\, the U.S.\, and Spain. DESCRIPTION:What:  2nd Tuesday painting session: Versals \nWhen:  Tuesday\, January 14 \nWhere:  Twin Falls Center for the Arts \nWhat time:  10:00 a.m. until 1:00 or so \nWhat to bring:  Paints\, markers\, or ways to add color; paper\, watercolor or sketchbook\, or cardstock; pencil & ruler. Optional: if you have a poem\, verse\, name \, or song that you think might be a fit with this project\, bring it along and you may be able to incorporate other lettering into your piece. \nWho can come:  We welcome all painters to join us.  Paint in whatever medium you like to use. If you don’t want to try a Versal\, that’s ok! Dillon hopes his music takes listeners on a journey of introspection\, nostalgia\, and joy. \nMusic has always been a big part of Kaden Tyree’s life while growing up in Twin Falls. Kaden started playing the guitar when he was 9 and as a 15-year-old he currently attends Canyon Ridge High School where his talents are well recognized. Kayden plays music from a wide array of genres and time periods\, from the 90’s to current day compositions. \nMeet the artists and enjoy refreshments served during Intermission.

Get all the details\, how-tos\, 2025 changes\, and more below! \n\nArtist registration is open from January 1 until midnight on March 31\, 2025. \n  \nEnter work now for a chance at up to $50\,000 in prize money!\nThe Magic Valley Arts Council is pleased to announce the 15th annual Art & Soul of the Magic Valley\, to be held June 6 – 28\, 2025 in Twin Falls\, Idaho. We are seeking entries from artists around the world to participate in this community-wide event! \nArt & Soul of the Magic Valley is a major non-juried art competition held in Twin Falls\, Idaho\, from June 6 to June 28\, 2025. Artists worldwide are invited to submit one artwork for a chance to win up to $50\,000 in prize money. The competition is unique as all submitted artworks will be physically displayed in local businesses serving as pop-up art galleries. Winners will be determined by public vote during the event\, which attracts around 40\,000 attendees\, making it one of the most beloved art shows in the Western US. \nApply online here! – OPENS JANUARY 1\, 2025\nKey Information\n\nEligibility: Anyone is eligible to enter Art & Soul of the Magic Valley\, except the GRAND PRIZE WINNER from the previous year.\nEntry: Each artist or group may submit only one entry\, in one category. An entry may involve multiple pieces with a common theme (a series of work). Each entry will pay a one-time non-refundable entry fee. Any artist who withdraws from the contest after entering will be charged a  $250 fee in order to reimburse your sponsor and venue who have paid to host your artwork.\nVoting: with the success of the voting platform introduced last year\, we are pleased to announce mobile voting and self-voter registration will be available again this year! Voters must register while within 15 miles of the Magic Valley Arts Council headquarters. Once registered\, voters can cast one vote per piece\, and may vote for as many pieces as they wish.\nPrizes: Up to $50\,000 will be distributed to as many as 98 artists. Prizes include Grand Prize\, Second\, Third\, and Fourth overall\, as well as category-specific awards.\nCategories: Category for entry is determined by artwork medium. Magic Valley Arts Council reserves the right to edit artist categories if necessary.\nArtificial Intelligence: ALL AI must be disclosed upon entry\, and use of AI will be included on Artist Statement sheet for voter review. This includes Photoshop generative fill and/or using any AI image generation whether for reference inspiration or as part of the actual final work. If AI was used and not disclosed\, the artist will be automatically disqualified.\nWinner Selection: Winners will be determined by public vote and announced at the Awards Ceremony on July 11\, 2025.\nArtwork Sale: Artwork may be listed for sale\, with a 20% commission payable to the Magic Valley Arts Council for sales between May 1 and August 1\, 2025.\n\nThis event provides artists with an opportunity to showcase their work\, engage with a wide audience\, and compete for substantial prize money through a public voting process. \nMain Contest Rules:\n\nArtwork must be displayed in a registered contest venue. Venues will select the works they wish to display. Artists are encouraged to find a sponsor – this can be anyone\, family\, friends\, local-to-you businesses\, art guilds that you may belong to\, or you may even choose to self-sponsor. The sponsorship fee is $100\, and the fee helps to offset the cost of entry for artists to keep this affordable for all to participate. All AI usage MUST BE DISCLOSED upon entry and this information will be made available to voters.
