DESCRIPTION:What: Gustavo Alonso Lopez – Flamenco Guitar\nWhen: Second Mondays of the Month – September 8th 7–8:30pm Doors open at 6:30pm.\nWhere: Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 160 9th Ave E\, Twin Falls\, Idaho 83301\nCost: $15 suggested donation \n  \nTwin Falls native\, Gustavo Alonso Lopez\, a North American flamenco guitarist and composer from Walla Walla\, Washington will be playing on September 8th at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship 160 9th Ave. East.  Concert starts at 7:00 doors open at 6:30.  There is a suggested donation of $15. \nGustavo received a Fulbright Fellowship to Spain in 2017 where he trained with top guitarists and created and still creates his own music borrowing concepts from classical music and jazz\, blurring the lines between composition and improvisation.  He has released two albums the second of which included an international team of collaborators from the United Staes\, Italy and Spain.  As well\, he has been the recipient of two composer-in-residence grants. \nHis formal education is in architecture\, the knowledge of which he brings into a cross-disciplinary path that coalesces around music

The historic home site\, where American artist James Castle lived and worked for over four decades\, stands today as a testament to the artist’s unique talent and artistic legacy. \nThis residency invites artists to immerse themselves in the historic site\, James Castle’s legacy\, and the surrounding landscape\, and respond to their experience through the creation of new works. Residents will share their creative practice and process with our community through one public event during their stay. \nEach residency cycle provides one participant with private furnished living quarters\, 24-hour studio access\, and a $1\,000 stipend for a two-week residency or a $4\,000 stipend for a two-month residency to assist with living expenses and supplies necessary to create work. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate and raise funds for music education with the 23rd annual Jazz on the Canyon at Twin Falls Center for the Arts\, 195 River Vista Place.  Mark your calendars for June 24\, 2025! \nAn evening high above the Snake River Canyon invites you to brush off your dance shoes in preparation for a festive evening of vibrant conversation\, lively music\, exquisite food\, and a fabulous auction of many exciting prizes. \nThe featured performers are the Crescent Super Band\, who have been frequent guest artists with groups such as the Dave Matthews Band\, Journey\, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy\, Tower of Power\, Journey\, the Rolling Stones\, and the Saturday Night Live Band. \nTables of 8 are $900.
