SUMMARY:12 Angry Men - Twin Falls Theatre Collective
DESCRIPTION:Join the cast of Twin Falls Theatre Collective in their production of 12 Angry Men this spring! \nWhen: April 23\, 24\, 25\, 27\, 30\, May 1 | 7pm \nAND April 25\, 26\, May 3 | 2pm \nWhere: Twin Falls Theatre Collective (310 Main St\, Filer\, ID 83328) \nCost: $20/ea\, purchase tickets online HERE: https://twinfallstheatre.com/tickets/ \n\n  \nA 19-year-old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. “He doesn’t stand a chance\,” mutters the guard as the 12 jurors are taken into the bleak jury room. It looks like an open-and-shut case—until one of the jurors begins opening the others’ eyes to the facts. “This is a remarkable thing about democracy\,” says the foreign-born juror\, “that we are notified by mail to come down to this place—and decide on the guilt or innocence of a person; of a man or woman we have not known before. We have nothing to gain or lose by our verdict. We should not make it a personal thing.” But personal it is\, with each juror revealing his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined\, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short\, arguments grow heated\, and the jurors become 12 angry men. \nBy Reginald Rose\nAdapted by Sherman L. Sergel. Based on the Emmy award-winning television movie by Reginald Rose.\nProduced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock\, Illinois

SUMMARY:Film Screening: THE LIBRARIANS - Special Viewing with Indivisible Twin Falls
DESCRIPTION:What: Special screening of the independent documentary The Librarians\, hosted by Indivisible Twin Falls County \nWhen: Saturday\, April 25 | 6pm \nWhere: Lamphouse Theatre\, 233 5th Ave S\, Twin Falls\, ID 83301 \nCost: Free to attend\, donations accepted to support Indivisible Twin Falls County \n  \nIf you missed the Indie Lens Pop-Up film screening of The Librarians at the Magic Valley Arts Council\, you are in luck! Indivisible Twin Falls County will be hosting a special viewing party at the Lamphouse Theatre in Twin Falls\, in response to the increasing amount of book bans occurring in our community. There will be a community discussion following the film. \n  \nJoin Indivisible Twin Falls County Idaho for a special screening of the acclaimed documentary The Librarians\, followed by a post-film community discussion to talk about how we protect the freedom to read right here in Idaho.\nFeatured at the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Film and TV Festival\, this documentary follows librarians as they fight against an anti-government extremist group whose aim is to remove books from school libraries in Texas.\nLibrarians emerge as first responders in the fight for democracy and our First Amendment Rights. As they well know\, controlling the flow of ideas means control over communities.\nIn Texas\, the Krause List targets 850 books focused on race and LGBTQIA+ stories – triggering sweeping book bans across the U.S. at an unprecedented rate. As tensions escalate\, librarians connect the dots from heated school and library board meetings nationwide to lay bare the underpinnings of extremism fueling the censorship efforts. Despite facing harassment\, threats\, and laws aimed at criminalizing their work – the librarians’ rallying cry for freedom to read is a chilling cautionary tale.
