2nd Tuesday Watercolor Class – IWS

What:  2^nd Tuesday painting session

When:  Tuesday, October 8

Where:  Twin Falls Center for the Arts

What time:  10:00 a.m. until 2:00 or so

What to bring:  Painting supplies and a painting friend.

Who can come:  We welcome all painters to join us.  Paint in whatever medium you like to use.

Directions:  Twin Falls Center for the Arts – MVAC classroom on the second floor.

What will we do: Fall Color!

Let’s begin the session with a discussion about fall color and how to maximize it!

• Color palettes – favorites colors and mixes for fall –https://www.color-meanings.com/fall-color-palettes/. Use this site to inspire your color choices.
• Traditional fall colors:  orange, red, yellow and brown, green,  and others we can talk about…
• Use “color palettes” to influence your paintings – (see link above and/or check out paint chips at the paint store)
• Plan a limited palette of colors to obtain a cohesive look

Do a quick painting with a limited palette with fall colors!

• Bring along reference materials to inspire a small painting in fall color
• Do color swatches from your palette to determine your best colors for a fall color piece
• Check to see if colors work together, or do you need to add a compliment to tone down a color
• Share what you have learned

What to bring:  Painting stuff (watercolors, gouache, acrylic, pastel…you pick!  Think about bringing fall colors, lunch if you like, and a painting friend.

Who can come:  We welcome all painters to join us.  Paint in whatever medium you like to use, and help our group grow by inviting a painting friend.

Video Lessons are generally 30 minutes or so.  I usually watch and then decide if it is something that I want to do, and then play the tape again and do the activities.
