INTRODUCTION TO MOSAIC Spring Weekender!

WHEN: May 15-17, 2026
DATES/TIMES:
– Friday May 15, 2026 6pm-9pm
– Saturday May 16, 2026 8:30am-5pm
– Sunday May 17, 2026 10am-12pm
LOCATION: Terra Cotta Park Art Space, 602 2nd Ave. S. Twin Falls, ID
AGE/EXPERIENCE LEVEL: adult; 16+ w/parent/guardian; beginner to intermediate
COST: $175 + $20 material fee (MMW uses Bullseye, Oceanside, Wissmach etc. glass and Leponitt nippers;) 13 hours total; 10% off for teachers!

DESCRIPTION: this beginner workshop covers the basics of glass mosaic: history, terminology, styles, techniques, design, material choice, tools, cutting, nipping and shaping glass, jointing, gluing and grouting etc. It also includes demonstrations by James, a TON of individual instruction and a great project designed and created by you! Most of all, it’s a lot of FUN!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: James Turner, owner of Boise Works, is a working mosaic artist and instructor based in Boise, ID. He began his mosaic career in Missoula, MT in 1996, moved his studio to Boise in 1998, began teaching in 2001, and started the Mosaic Workshop at Fort Boise in 2004. He has taught thousands of adults and kids from around the globe since then and has been the Artist in Residence at Christine Donnell School for the Arts, ANSER Charter, Whittier and Longfellow schools in Boise. He has appeared on HGTV’s “That’s Clever!” and in numerous publications pertaining to the art of mosaic.
